Fuerza Aérea Venezolana (Maracay) will take delivery of ten Do228s from Swiss aviation firm, RUAG Aerospace (Lucerne),
following the recent signing of a contract between the Venezuelan
government and the Swiss in Caracas. The contract encompasses the sale
of the aircraft as well as training, spare parts and ground support
equipment. The ten aircraft comprise eight new Dornier 228 New
Generation and two pre-owned Dornier 228-212s. Configured for passenger
transport, the Dornier 228 fleet will connect remote villages with
regional hubs across Venezuela, thereby improving local accessibility.
