United States Air Force Boeing C17 Globemaster III 05-5146
finally departed from Ohakea 03 December direct to its Honolulu/Hickam
home as SLEW91 concluding what appears to have been an extended visit.
05-5146 arrived at Ohakea 11 November from Hickam to participate in
exercises Kiwi Flag 2013 and Southern Katipo 2013. It flew two trips
from Ohakea to Timaru and back on 12 November and then sat idle until a
flight to Amberley, near Brisbane, on 19 November. It was to then
return to Ohakea 23 November from Amberley and to the best of our
knowledge has again sat idle until its departure yesterday.
