Emirates Transfer its Sky cargo in April

Emirates will transfer its Sky Cargo operations from Dubai Int'l to Dubai World Central from April. One person died and two others were injured when a small plane crashed at the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport in Colorado on Sunday,

Saudi Airlines,29 people injured during emergency landing at Madinah

Twenty nine people were injured when a Saudi Arabian Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Madinah airport early Sunday, officials said.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said 18 of the injured were treated at the airport while 11 were taken to hospital. A Saudia spokesman, who did not give his name, said three people were seriously injured.

Saudia Arabin Airlines has earmarked four subsidiaries during 2014; acquire more jets

Saudi Arabian Airlines has earmarked four subsidiaries for privatization during the course of this year. The move is meant to boost the airline's revenue stream.  The carrier has already privatized five other units including Catering, Saudia Cargo, Ground services and Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries. In an interview with Arab News, Abdullah Al-Ajhar, the Saudi national carrier's vice president for public relations, said the units listed include the Prince Sultan Aviation Academy, Saudia Private Aviation , Medical Services, which include a 400-bed hospital, and Saudi Airlines Real Estate Development Company. “This year will witness the privatization of about 70 to 80 percent of our strategic units,” he said.Mr Al-Ajhar also noted that Saudia would acquire an additional 35 new aircraft to beef up services in the domestic sector. “We are still in the planning stage. We have yet to determine the model and size of the new aircraft,” he said.

South Sudan Airlines ceased scheduled flights into rebel territories

South Sudan Airlines has confirmed that it has ceased operations to the South Sudanese states of Jonglei, Unity and some parts of Upper Nile state.  In a statement, the South Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority said that for the safety of the passengers and staff of local commercial flight operators, which include Kush Air (KUH, Juba) and Juba Air (Juba), flights to Bor, Panyagor, Akobo and all other areas under rebel control, had been stopped until further notice. "South Supreme Airlines is operational in the whole country except areas where we have been advised by the Civil Aviation Authority", Ayii Duang Ayii, executive director of the company  Said. The three regions are currently under control of armed forces loyal to the former vice president, Riek Machar.
